We got a disturbing call yesterday- someone had found an older beagle walking down a country road. Which in itself isn't that horrible- she could just be lost right? Maybe- but she sure is in awful shape and from what we can tell has been bred over, and over, and over again. Most likely she is a used up puppy mill dog- after having litter after litter she probably could not have any more.... The little beagle is an absolute sweetheart and just wants to be loved. She is quite friendly and although she appears to be older we are having a hard time guessing her age- her teeth are great and we are wondering if she doesn't look older than she is just because of how hard her life has been. I will have more information and pictures later today or tomorrow. She has been named Dolly- in honor of her ample chest...... ;o)

And then there is Jimi- he is yet another Cattle Dog cross (who knows where they are all coming from!!!!) He appears to be pretty young- maybe a year or so. He was picked up as a stray and never claimed. He was on his last day at the shelter when we said we'd take him. Jimi is unique in that he has longer hair- but the cattle dog color (including the very cute patches over his ears!)- Overall he is a very handsome dude! Jimi has most likely been an outdoor type dog- but will adapt easily to the "good life" :o)
He is good with other dogs and of course loves all people- even the little ones! I will have more info and pics later today!
Be sure to check back for pics of the beagle girl, and Jimi!
