Item # 216

Item # 216 = There is something about this dog that made it hard to leave her behind. It could be her soft woeful expression, it could be the way she leans in for a scratch. It could be the way her coat is all sun burnt- indicating that she has spent a lot of time outdoors. Or it could be that she needed help.

She was tied to a railing on a fence, her number on her neck...

We discovered that her actual auction time would be hours from when we were there. A friend said she'd stick around to see if she was sold. Adult dogs don't go for much. I got the call a few hours later and rushed back to pick her up. Although we of course don't generally pay for dogs we ended up paying for this one. She was worth it. To be bought by us means that she will be spayed(she is in heat right now), and then sent to a screened, loving home. To be bought by someone at the auction could mean puppies, puppies, puppies, or the rest of her life outdoors...

We have named her Rosie and she is settling in very well. We were told that she is a Pembroke Corgi/Border Collie Cross. I definitely agree- she has a very border collie face, but appears to be very much a corgi. She is soft and gentle and is fabulous with kids. Rosie is great in the house and likes to lay at your feet. She loves to go for walks and doesn't even pull! Rosie is learning about housetraining and has only had one accident so far! She is a real sweetheart and loves to be close to you. She is a young dog (around 2 years old) and is eager to learn. She picks things up fast and will be a great house dog in no time!
